My journey with mulled wine started back in 2014 with one unforgetable sip at The Shard. I still remember it clearly. The bar manager at the time, David Melo, had a recipe that lived rent-free in my mind… until he left in 2015 and took the magic with him. I was GUTTED.
Fast forward to 2018, I crossed paths with The London Wine Girl, who put me onto using sherry in mulled wine. Then my cousin Karlene said, “Why don’t you add sorrel you need to create something different?” And that was it — and in 2020, Professional Eater Mulled Wine was officially born.
over the six years people kept telling me they loved drinking it cold. Meanwhile, I’d spent years telling everyone to warm it gently! So in 2025, I embraced it. I changed the name to Sorrel & Sherry, and now I proudly tell everyone: enjoy it hot or cold — just drink it how you love it.
